FINAL

  • What success does the image represent?
The success was the story of Tito. Our neighbors, the ONLY neighbors for about two miles, had broken up and were both moving away and leaving everything behind. Everything included there new litter of kittens. We lived in the middle of the forest in Cabot, Arkansas, and -sadly- it was not uncommon for animals who roamed the forest to get eaten by the bears.
Mom said we could only rescue one kitten, so we chose a boy with bright blue eyes. After the first night, Tito climbed into the kiddie pool in the back yard and drowned. Everyone blamed themselves for not paying more attention to the newest member of our family. Mom went to work in tears after trying for hours to revive him, Ally and I tearfully went to school, but focusing was nearly impossible, the whole house was depressed and I had to find something to do about it.
That night, while everyone was still asleep and Mom working the night shift, I hopped out my window and hiked the two miles to the kittens. I was met with a disgusting smell and saw that only two of the kittens were alive, the mom and the rest of the litter was dead. I picked up one and put him in my backpack, and called the pound about the other (they refused to pick up a WHOLE litter) they came and took her with them later (I checked up later, she got adopted) and then I took the other kitten home.
I bathed her and then put her in a large box with some food and newspaper. I raised her back to health and after a week I finally told the family. I was upset for having let them suffer for so long, but instantly everyone felt better. We were all still upset about Tito, but Terra would prove to help to speed up the healing and make fill the void that Tito had left behind.
  • How well do you think you communicated this visually?
For me or anyone in my family, would instantly know what this is about. The beach shows the water, the shovel would remind Ally about how we didn't own one, and had to ask the neighbors to borrow one, the little girl with the kittens shadow shows the innocent nature to what I did, the quote is what I kept telling myself when I was "kittynapping" Terra, the free kittens shows how Rob and Cindy so carelessly left the kittens alone, the bear seems a little out of place but it represents the danger for the kittens left alone.
  • What could you have done better?
I could have been more careful with cutting out the shovel, and made the bear look a little more natural instead of looking copied, pasted, and not much more -_-
  • What was well done about your image?
I really liked how the box of kittens and the shadow underneath them (the girl with the kittens) turned out, I also like the neutrality of all the colors, and how all the components go nicely with the original background. Finally, I REALLY like how the quote fitted to the line and the font style of, "Pizza is my Favorite".
  • What grade would you give yourself
A high B or a low A, its not my best, but it is pretty good for two class periods :3
  • What was your favorite project for the entire class?
The sculptris one, it was fun and easy for the program, if only I could rig the models and add physics so I could animate them in MMD :P
  • What was your least favorite project for the entire class?
The Pen Tool Violin project, it was not productive enough for that much effort X(
